1. Introduction
Pleasure Waves (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information when you visit our website at https://pleasurewaves.com.au/, submit our contact form, or book an appointment with us.
2. Personal information we collect

- Name, email address and phone number (if provided)
- The content of any message or enquiry you send us
Bookings via Acuity Scheduling
- Name, email address and phone number
- Appointment date, time and service type
- Any intake or booking details you provide
- Payment information — collected and processed directly by Acuity Scheduling and its payment processor; we do not store full card details
Email marketing (once our mailing list is established)

- Engagement data such as opens and clicks on our emails

- Name and email address, used to send you a meeting link
- Zoom may separately collect technical/usage data under its own privacy policy

3. How we collect your personal information
We collect personal information directly from you when you complete our contact form, make a booking through Acuity Scheduling, subscribe to our mailing list, join a Zoom consultation, or otherwise contact us by phone or email. We also collect information automatically through cookies and similar technologies via Google Analytics when you browse our website.
4. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose your information
- To respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form
- To schedule, manage, confirm and send reminders for bookings via Acuity Scheduling
- To conduct consultations or appointments via Zoom
- To send marketing emails and newsletters, where you have opted in (see section 5)
- To understand and improve website usage and our services, via Google Analytics
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations
5. Email marketing
Once our mailing list is established, we intend to use Kit (formerly ConvertKit) to send marketing communications.
- We will only add you to our mailing list if you actively subscribe (for example, via an opt-in form) or otherwise consent
- Every marketing email will include a clear and functioning unsubscribe link
- You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us directly
- We will not sell, rent or trade your email address to third parties
- Your data will be stored and processed by our email platform in accordance with its own privacy policy and, where applicable, its overseas hosting arrangements (see section 7)
6. Third-party services we use
We disclose limited personal information to the following third-party service providers so that they can perform services on our behalf:
- Acuity Scheduling (owned by Squarespace) — appointment booking, scheduling and payment processing
- Zoom — video consultations and meetings
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — website analytics and traffic reporting
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — sending newsletters and marketing communications, once our list is established
These providers only receive the personal information necessary to deliver their service to us and are subject to their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
7. Overseas disclosure of personal information
Some of the third parties listed in section 6 (including Acuity Scheduling, Zoom and Google Analytics) may store or process personal information on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. In using these services, personal information may be disclosed to overseas recipients.
Under Australian Privacy Principle 8, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your personal information consistently with the APPs, including by using established, reputable providers with their own security and privacy safeguards. However, overseas recipients may not always be subject to privacy obligations equivalent to Australian law, and enforcing Australian privacy rights against an overseas recipient may not always be possible.
8. International clients
We work with clients based outside Australia, including in the United States. Regardless of where you are located, this Privacy Policy and Australian law govern how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information, as we are an Australian-based business.
The United States does not have a single national privacy law; instead, a number of individual states have their own privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act) that apply once a business meets certain size or data-processing thresholds. We do not currently meet these thresholds. If our business grows to a point where an overseas privacy law applies to us, we will update this policy and comply with any additional obligations that apply, such as specific disclosure or opt-out requirements.
9. Cookies and Google Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including through Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our site and to improve our content and services. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google’s browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes relying on the security measures of our reputable third-party service providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
